The department has adequate facilities to meet the needs of the students. The following are major facilities available for students and research scholars:

Circuit Lab

This is primarily meant for performing experiments which are of basic in nature to fulfil the requirements of the courses. Primary instruments are CROs, Function Generators, Multimeters, IC Testers etc and all other associated components. The circuit lab is used by students of all the four semesters as per slots provided by the daily routine. However, to complete the project work within the stipulated time, fourth semester students are provided extra time and space.

Computational Lab-I

The lab has been initially developed by using financial assistance received under the FIST Programme of the Department of Science & Technology in 2000-01. The Lab has been subsequently updated in 2012 from financial support received from DST. The Lab contains P-5 based PCs using Windows XP to provide facilities to students to work with Matlab, Multisim, PC Trace etc. Computational sessions for C/C++, Matlab and PSpice programming are arranged for students of each semester as required by the syllabus. This AC lab can accommodate over twenty users at a time. The computational lab has a 1 Gbps Internet connection which has also been extended to every part of the department through a high speed LAN.

Computational Lab-II

This lab has been developed by using financial support received from UGC, under UGC innovative programme. The Lab contains P-5 quad-core based PCs using Windows XP to provide facilities to students to work with LabView, Matlab, Multisim, PC Trace etc. Computational sessions for C/C++, Matlab and PSpice programming are arranged for students of each semester as required by the syllabus.

Photonic Lab

The lab is meant for project works as well as research works. This sophisticated lab has facilities which are currently housing a study on temperature and displacement sensors using optical fibers under a faculty member of the department.

Instrumentation & Control Lab

This is a research oriented lab. Some web-based experiments are currently going on in this lab. Instruments like, 500 MHz Dual Channel Tektronix Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope (DPO), 100 MHz Dual and Quad Channel Tektronix Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO), 3 GHz Spectrum Analyzer, 100 MHz Tektronix Arbitray Function Generator, HP proliant Server etc. are available in this Lab for research purposes. The lab has been developed by using financial support from UGC, AICTE and ASTEC (under project categories).

Microwave Lab

The department also has a microwave lab with all the necessary instruments to perform experiments sufficient to meets the requirements of the course on microwave and special papers attached with it. The lab has been developed by using financial support from State Government

Microprocessor/Microcontroller Lab

The department has sufficient number of microprocessor training kits and associated serial cards to perform experiments as per syllabus and requirements of project works. The department also uses its computational resources to conduct computer-based microprocessor and microcontroller practical sessions using simulators.

Communication and Cognitive System Design Lab

This Lab has been developed by using the fund received from DIT, Govt. of India, meant for project work of students as well as research purposes.

Departmental Library

The department has a well stocked and periodically updated library which caters to the needs of the students. There is sufficient space for the students to spend their time reading in the department. The library also includes a Book Bank where from sufficient numbers of books are issued to each student of the department for the entire semester. Books are also available in the central library of the university.
