Dr Rupali Debbarma is an Assistant Professor, working in the Department of Law, Gauhati University. She did her LL.M from Indian Law Institute (ILI) New Delhi. She has Specialization in Criminal Law and Human Rights. She cleared her UGC NET in the year 2010. 

Dr Debbarma has started her academic career from Loyd Law College, Greater Noida, Delhi NCR. After that she has joined National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA). After teaching in NLUJAA for nearly one academic year, she has joined the Department of Law, Gauhati University in the year 2012. In the Department of Law she performed the task of conducting seminars, conferences, taking interactive sessions, coordinating programmes and conducted several National and International webinars. 

At the Department Dr Debbarma is teaching Criminal Law to Post-graduate students. She has also introduced practice teaching with final year Criminal Law specialization batch. Dr Debbarma is associated with Gauhati University Journal of Law (GUJL) and Vidhijyoti as an assistant editor. She is also associated with paper Criminal Law and Criminology in the capacity of paper coordinator. 

Besides organizing various seminars and conferences she has also presented papers in various seminars and conferences both National and International platform. Dr Debbarma is awarded PhD on the topic "The application of modern psycho-physiological devices in police interogation: the need for reviewing it from the human rights perspective in Indian Criminal Justice System- A medico-legal appraisal" from the Faculty of Law, Gauhati University.

She taught Courses on Theory of Legislation, Methods of Interpretation of Statutes, Criminal Law, Criminology, Cyber Crime, Human rights, Women and Law etc.
