BRIEF PROFILE

Prof.(Dr.) H.P. Sarma is the Rector of Gauhati University. Earlier, he has served as the Head of the Department of Environmental Science, Gauhati University, for two terms. Prof. H.P. Sarma has a vast and invaluable experience of over 38 years of teaching and research and also in the areas of human resource management, technology transfer and social outreach activities. He is well known for his institution building abilities and democratic leadership. He has visited and lectured in different universities in India and abroad. As a keen researcher and an avid academician, Prof. Sarma has authored several books and has more than 130 national and international research papers to his credit. He is serving as reviewer for various high level impact factor international journals. He is currently member of the various other committees of the university.
