Dr. Dipen Deka is an Associate Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science Gauhati University, Assam.
He did MLISc in 2004 with 1st class 1st position from the Department of Library and Information Science, Gauhati University.
He is the first student to qualify UGC JRF from the Department of Library and Information Science, Gauhati University in June 2005.
He was awarded Ph.D. degree in Library and Information Science by Gauhati University in the year 2012 for his thesis “Digital Resources Management with reference to Indian University Libraries” under the supervision of Professor Narendra Lahkar, Gauhati University.
He worked at the Central Reference Library, Kolkata in the programme “Apprenticeship on Lib. & Inf. Science” for one month in February 2005.
For a brief period, he worked as the Librarian in Army School Basistha, Guwahati in 2005.
In 2006 he joined as a guest faculty in the Department of Library and Information Science, Gauhati University.
In 2006 he joined as a UGC JRF in the Department of Library and Information Science, Gauhati University and was promoted to UGC SRF.
He joined the Bishnu Ram Medhi Government Law College, Guwahati as a Librarian in 2010.
In 2013 he joined the Department of Library and Information Science, Gauhati University as Assistant Professor.
In 2022 he was promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science, Gauhati University.
