Experimental research in all disciplines of science is dependent on a variety of sophisticated analytical instruments. So to facilitate the research activities in the University, the Central Instruments Facility (CIF), Gauhati University, which is accessible to all departments of the University, is established in 2017. At present CIF is housed in the Department of Chemistry, Gauhati University as the permanent CIF building is being constructed.

 

The facility has a Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM), a High Resolution Mass Spectrometer (HRMS) and an Atomic Force Micropscope (AFM).
