MSc Admission Process: Students are admitted to MSc(ECT) & MSc(MEAC) programs on the basis of merit list in entrance examination. Students should specify their choice for ECT or MEAC program at the time of submitting application forms.

Eligibility Criteria for MSc: Candidates who have passed and secured minimum of 45% in 3 Years BSc(Major) programs in Electronics / Physics / Intrumentation / Computer Science / Mathematics from any Indian University recognized by UGC

MSc Entrance Examination: The entrance examination  is based on 100 number of multiple choice type questions (MCQ) and each question carries 01 mark with 0.25 negative marking for every incorrect answer.  Syllabus of the examination is based on B.Sc. Electronics (Major) program offered by Gauhati University.

Evaluation scheme of MSc programs: Out of 100 marks, internal assessment = 60% and external assessment = 40% in every papers. Students need to pass separately in both internal and external evaluations by securing 40% of the marks alloted to each assessment method. There is mandatory requirement of 75% attendence in both theory and practical classes, otherwise students are not allowed to appear in the examinations relating to external assessment.

MPhil & PhD Admission Process: Students are admitted to MPhil & PhD programs on the basis of merit list in common entrance examination.

Eligibility Criteria for MPhil:Candidates who have passed MSc programs in Electronics / Physics / Intrumentation / Computer Science  from any Indian University recognized by UGC

Eligibility Criteria for PhD: Candidates who have passed MSc programs in Electronics / Physics / Intrumentation / Computer Science or M.Tech in ECE / ETE / EE / CSE  from any Indian University recognized by UGC

MPhil & PhD Entrance Examination: The entrance examination is based on syllabi of M.Sc. ECT and M.Sc. MEAC programs offered by Gauhati University.  Question paper for the  entrance examination comprises of sections on general ability test and discipline specific questions. General ability test consist of MCQ questions only while discipline specific section has both MCQ and descriptive questions.

• Admit Card for End Semester Examination will not be issued to students with attendence less than 75%.

• Attendence will be determined by considering total number of working days upto  the last day of theory and laboratory classes to be conducted before commencement of the examination.

• Students need to pass separately in both Internal and external evaluations of each paper offered in the MSc Programs.
